Introduction
CHRIS data are provided in Hierarchical Data Format (HDF) which may be read by most modern image processing systems. However, it is also convenient to have a simple program which will display the contents of the HDF file, as this contains information on the view geometry as well as many other parameters related to the performance of the CHRIS sensor. A suitable program is HDF Explorer, which is available in a free version as well as a fully-featured professional version.
